Project Director (Construction)

Project Director - Primary Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the overall planning, execution and completion of private industrial construction projects, ensuring compliance with approved budget, programme, quality and safety requirements.

• Drive project delivery from pre-construction, tender/contract stage through construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

• Provide strategic leadership to Project Managers, Site Teams, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure effective project coordination and timely resolution of issues.

• Manage client and consultant relationships, including project meetings, progress updates, contractual matters, variations and key project decisions.

• Oversee project financial performance, including project budget, cost control, procurement, variations, claims, cash flow and commercial risks.

• Ensure construction planning and programme control, identifying potential delays and implementing recovery measures where required.

• Lead coordination of architectural, structural, M&E, BIM and specialist works, ensuring constructability and smooth interface between project disciplines.

• Drive quality, WSH and regulatory compliance, ensuring projects meet statutory requirements, contractual specifications and company standards.

• Manage subcontractors and key suppliers, including performance, productivity, resources, workmanship and contractual obligations.

• Support business development and tender activities by providing technical, commercial and construction input for new private industrial projects.

• Develop and mentor project teams, promoting accountability, effective communication, productivity and continuous improvement.

• Provide regular project performance reports to Management, highlighting progress, financial status, key risks, issues and required management decisions.
