Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead building construction projects from planning to handover, ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective delivery with high quality while managing diverse stakeholders and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead building construction projects by setting clear direction and driving project execution from planning through completion
- Manage project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety performance to meet targets and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers to align project goals and resolve issues
- Lead multidisciplinary teams including Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and site personnel to achieve project milestones
- Review and approve construction programmes, resource allocation, budgets, and deliverables to ensure project feasibility and compliance
- Monitor project progress continuously and implement corrective actions to address delays, risks, or quality concerns
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, contractual matters, and potential delays to minimize impact on project outcomes
- Ensure strict compliance with Building and Construction Authority (BCA) requirements, building regulations, workplace safety standards, and company policies
- Prepare and present regular progress reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders
- Manage project variations, claims, procurement processes, and commercial matters to safeguard project interests
- Maintain thorough project documentation, enforce quality control measures, and ensure timely handover of completed projects
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency, productivity, and construction processes
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or related discipline recognized by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA)
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience managing major building construction projects
- Strong knowledge of Singapore construction practices, regulations, and statutory requirements
- Proven leadership and project management skills in multidisciplinary team environments
- Proficient in project planning, cost control, contract management, quality assurance, and workplace safety
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications and/or recognized construction-related qualifications
