Job Description

Role Overview

The Product Analyst will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, performance analysis, and control oversight over trading activities within the desk. This role involves daily P&L reporting, exception monitoring, month-end reconciliations, and support for risk and performance metrics. The ideal candidate is analytical, process-driven, and able to translate financial data into meaningful insights aligned with business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Deliverables

  • Prepare and validate daily P&L reports, including detailed P&L decomposition.
  • Analyse and provide commentary on key P&L drivers, linking results to trading strategies and business activities.
  • Monitor New and Late Deals, as well as Market Operations, ensuring proper reporting and escalation.
  • Perform checks on transactions executed at off-market rates and document clear justifications.
  • Conduct exception monitoring of reported P&L versus trader estimates, including threshold-based escalation for unexplained variances.

Monthly Routine Tasks

  • Reconcile P&L between Management Reporting and the General Ledger.
  • Complete GLAO certification and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Perform room-wide and desk-level reserves computation.
  • Identify and report significant Month-to-Date P&L drivers.
  • Prepare and submit Key Risk and Performance Indicator reports for relevant business desks.

Ad-Hoc Responsibilities & Projects

  • Streamline and improve workflows to enhance team operational efficiency.
  • Review and strengthen control processes to identify and close process gaps.
  • Address ad-hoc queries from Front Office, Risk Management Group, Treasury Operations, and Finance.
  • Support the preparation and submission of audit documentation and responses for both internal and external audits.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of treasury products, derivatives, and options.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to link product control processes to broader business strategies and desk activities.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
