About the Role
The primary job responsibility of the Production Process Engineer is to optimise production processes by analysing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operations. They are responsible for assessing and mitigating potential risks, implementing safety measures, and ensuring that the production processes meet all applicable regulatory requirements. They play a key role in supporting new product development and scale-up activities with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful introduction of new products into the production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Optimize plant work processes and production by identifying process gaps, recommending improvements, and leading the approval and implementation of new or revised processes.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth and successful adoption of process changes.
Proactively identify potential issues before incidents occur and ensure plant operations meet design specifications.
Lead and champion Risk Assessments and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to mitigate operational risks.
Apply the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle by conducting regular checks, reviews, and briefings to drive continuous improvement.
Serve as a trainer and mentor for engineers, senior engineers, and technicians, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and optimal team proficiency.
What We're Looking For
Min Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
At least 2 years of relevant working experience
Ability to plan and organize work and priorities.
Intermediate MS Office skills
Data analysis using quality tools and troubleshooting skills.
Communications - written and verbal, ability to conduct upward and downward relationship management.
Ability to read and interpret P&ID
Basic knowledge of chemical operation process equipment
Knowledge of ISO9000, 14000, 45000, and 50000
Internal auditing skills
Risk Assessment framework and ability to conduct an actual risk assessment.
Problem-solving skills and analytical skills
Well-versed in chemical handling knowledge
Report writing skills.
Leadership skills - able to lead and motivate.
Systematic and structural thinking process
Decision-making based on technical and engineering approach
Self-driven to achieve results.
Diligent in following Management Systems
Good sense of Safety
Person with integrity
An independent individual that takes initiatives and take charge, does not require supervision.
Tenacious in pursuing work outcome and completion
