- Diagnose and resolve complex transfer molding process issues (at both in-house and at customer sites), utilizing both theoretical approach and hands-on techniques.
- Propose, evaluate and implement incremental process improvements aimed at enhancing quality, throughput and process capability towards improved cost-of-ownership of our molding platform.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, hardware, mold design and sales to achieve project objectives and deliverables.
- Provides expert technical guidance on packaging design and process parameters to ensure optimal transfer molding process outcomes.
- Establish transfer molding processes for new customer products and conduct thorough process assessments and evaluations.
- Assess change proposals related to the molding process, including new parts, mechanisms, software features, and sequences, and deliver comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations.
- Conduct regular visits to international customers to provide process support, facilitate project rollouts, and assist with new feature releases.
- Operate independently at customer sites, representing companies with professionalism and expertise.
Education
Master or BSc degree in Physics or Mechanical engineering
Work experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in transfer molding and/or other backend processes, with substantial hands-on experience.
- Extensive practical experience in diagnosing and resolving process issues, as well as implementing process optimizations.
Expertise and methodology
- Knowledge of transfer molding processes
- Knowledge of automated semiconductor equipment
- Experienced in running a DOE
- Very good English skills (verbal and written)
- Proven problem-solving skills (in process, mechanical, SW control)
- Knowledge, experience and practice on ESG initiatives is an added advantage
