We are looking for a Principal Surveyor to lead and grow our marine survey capabilities. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, guide a multi-disciplinary team, ensure the highest standards of survey quality and safety, and serve as a trusted point of contact for clients and stakeholders. What you will be doing:
- Provide strategic and technical leadership for complex marine survey projects across conventional vessels and remote survey platforms.
- Ensure survey quality, data integrity, and operational excellence, maintaining high standards for safety and performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop survey teams, including surveyors, pilots, and data analysts, fostering a culture of growth, competency, and collaboration.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients and stakeholders, advising on survey methodologies, project planning, and risk management.
- Oversee the selection, integration, and validation of survey equipment and technologies, including multi-beam echo sounders, positioning systems, navigation sensors, and communication links.
- Drive innovation in survey methods, best practices, and operational workflows to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Support offshore and remote survey operations as required, ensuring readiness for a wide range of operational scenarios.
- Participate in pre-project planning, technical reviews, and post-project evaluations to optimize survey outcomes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of training, competence frameworks, and team development initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Marine Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in marine or offshore surveying, with significant leadership or principal-level responsibilities.
- Strong expertise in survey methods, marine equipment, and industry standards.
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and mentoring technical staff.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and client-facing skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to operational excellence, quality, and safety in all survey activities.
