Marine Service Engineer

We are looking for a Marine Service Engineer (Propulsion & Alignment) for our marine service company based in Singapore.

On Site Alignment is specialized in alignment and installation of all critical rotating equipment onboard ships, for example main engines, generators and gearboxes. We do sterntube repairs, change bearings and couplings but also align machinery with shims or chockfast.

Our engineers are highly skilled and believe in making things happen.

We are a company with 45 employees worldwide. With offices in The Netherlands, Singapore, UAE, and the USA, On Site Alignment is working towards a global presence to service our customers wherever and whenever needed.

Job Summary

As a Marine Service Engineer at On Site Alignment, you will troubleshoot, align, and install rotating machinery onboard vessels, liaise with customers, and deliver service reports across Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform alignment and installation of rotating machinery onboard ships to ensure operational reliability
• Communicate effectively with customers on site to understand service needs and provide technical support
• Prepare and follow up on detailed service reports to document work performed and customer interactions
• Adapt to changing work demands and environments across the Southeast Asia region
• Collaborate with team members to develop practical solutions using available materials, tools, and information

Required competencies and certifications

• Hands-on experience working onboard vessels
• Mechanical background relevant to marine rotating equipment

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Knowledge or experience using alignment measurement tools
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to engage with colleagues and customers effectively
• Initiative and eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technical challenges
• Creativity in problem-solving within resource constraints
