The Role

We are hiring a Senior Pre-Sales Consultant to be the technical and domain bridge between Width's product capabilities and prospective clients compliance challenges. You will work alongside the Sales team to understand client requirements, demonstrate how Width's platform addresses their regulatory obligations, and design solution architectures that win deals and set up successful implementations.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on experience inside a bank's compliance or financial crime function with vendor-side or consultancy experience presenting and positioning RegTech solutions to senior stakeholders. You understand what compliance officers worry about — because you have been one — and you can translate that into compelling product narratives, tailored demos and solution proposals that close enterprise deals.

This role carries direct revenue impact. You will be measured on deal support quality, win rate contribution, demo-to-close conversion and time-to-value for new clients.

What You Will Do

Solution Design & Client Discovery

  • Lead discovery sessions with prospective clients — understanding their existing compliance workflows, pain points, regulatory obligations and technology landscape across AML, KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring and fraud detection.
  • Design tailored solution proposals that map Width's platform capabilities (Artemis KYC, Athena Screening, transaction monitoring, case management) to client-specific requirements and regulatory expectations.
  • Produce solution architecture documents, data-flow diagrams and integration blueprints for enterprise prospects, covering API connectivity, data migration, system interoperability and deployment models (SaaS, on-premise, hybrid).
  • Assess client readiness and identify implementation risks early — flagging scope, data quality or integration challenges before the deal closes.

Product Demonstration & Proof of Concept

  • Deliver compelling, scenario-driven product demonstrations to compliance teams, risk committees, IT stakeholders and C-suite decision-makers at banks, fintechs and regulated financial institutions.
  • Build and run proof-of-concept (POC) engagements using client data and real-world scenarios — configuring screening rules, risk models, workflow automations and reporting outputs to demonstrate measurable outcomes.
  • Develop reusable demo environments, use-case libraries and industry-specific talk tracks (banking, digital assets, insurance, payments, corporate services) to accelerate the sales cycle.
  • Tailor demonstrations to jurisdiction-specific regulatory requirements (MAS, HKMA, JFSA, OJK, VARA, FinCEN) so prospects see immediate relevance to their compliance programme.

Sales Enablement & Deal Support

  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle — from initial qualification through commercial negotiation to contract close — serving as the domain expert and technical authority in client-facing engagements.
  • Lead responses to RFIs, RFPs and security/compliance questionnaires from enterprise prospects, coordinating inputs from Product, Engineering and Compliance as needed.
  • Create and maintain sales collateral: solution briefs, competitive battle cards, ROI models, case studies and regulatory compliance matrices tailored to each target vertical and jurisdiction.
  • Provide competitive intelligence — benchmark Width against competing platforms (NICE Actimize, SAS, Quantexa, Tookitaki, Sumsub, ComplyAdvantage) on functionality, architecture, pricing and regulatory coverage.

Product Feedback & Market Intelligence

  • Channel structured product feedback from prospects and POC engagements into the Product team — identifying feature gaps, integration requirements and workflow enhancements that would improve win rates.
  • Share market intelligence on regulatory trends, client compliance challenges and competitive developments that inform Width's product roadmap and go-to-market positioning.
  • Contribute to thought leadership — co-authoring white papers, blog posts and webinar content that positions Width as a credible, authoritative voice in RegTech and financial crime compliance.

What We Are Looking For

  • 7–12 years of experience spanning financial crime compliance, RegTech, AML/sanctions or risk management — with a meaningful portion spent on the practitioner side (bank, fintech, insurer or regulated entity) and ideally some time at a RegTech vendor, systems integrator or consultancy in a pre-sales, solutions or advisory capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks, KYC/CDD processes, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, fraud detection and suspicious activity reporting — grounded in practical implementation, not just theory.
  • Experience presenting and demonstrating compliance technology solutions to senior stakeholders (Heads of Compliance, MLROs, CROs, CTOs) at banks and financial institutions.
  • Ability to conduct requirements analysis, design solutions and produce technical proposals that bridge business compliance needs with platform capabilities.
  • Familiarity with RegTech system architecture — APIs, data integrations, screening engines, risk-scoring models, workflow automation and reporting — sufficient to have credible technical conversations with client IT teams.
  • Experience with vendor evaluation, system selection and implementation projects (KYC migration, TM deployment, screening system rollout) from either the buy side or sell side.
  • Comfortable managing proof-of-concept engagements end-to-end — scoping, data preparation, configuration, results analysis and executive presentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication — able to produce RFP responses, solution documents and executive presentations with minimal oversight.
  • Self-driven and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment where you own the outcome, not just the process.
  • English fluency required; Mandarin and/or Cantonese strongly preferred given North Asia expansion focus.

Nice to Have

  • ACAMS (CAMS), CFE, ICA or equivalent professional certification in financial crime or compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with competing platforms (SAS, FICO, NICE Actimize, Refinitiv/LSEG, Dow Jones) — either as an operator or as a vendor-side consultant.
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, data analysis or scripting (Python, VBA) — enough to configure POC environments and analyse screening/monitoring results independently.
  • Experience with digital asset / virtual asset compliance frameworks (MAS DTSP, HK VASP, MiCA, VARA).
  • Track record of supporting enterprise sales cycles with deal sizes of USD 100K+ ARR.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in compliance — AI-assisted alert disposition, generative AI for risk assessments, automated CDD workflows.
  • Regional regulatory knowledge across multiple APAC jurisdictions (MAS, HKMA, JFSA, OJK, BNM, RBI).
