Job Description

Job Summary

The Planning Manager is responsible for leading the project planning and scheduling function to ensure timely and efficient delivery of construction works in accordance with contractual milestones and project objectives. The role involves developing, monitoring, and controlling detailed project schedules, identifying risks and delays, and providing strategic planning support to project leadership.

The Planning Manager plays a key role in construction sequencing, resource planning, progress tracking, and delay analysis, utilizing Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project as primary scheduling tools.

Key Responsibilities

- The Planning Manager develops and maintains the master project schedule, establishing a structured Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and identifying critical path activities.

- The role ensures alignment between engineering, procurement, and construction activities to support smooth project execution.

- Regular progress monitoring and schedule updates are conducted to track performance against the approved baseline.

- The Planning Manager performs variance analysis, identifies potential delays, and proposes recovery strategies to maintain milestone commitments.

- The role also manages delay impact assessments, Extension of Time (EOT) evaluations, and maintains proper documentation to support contractual claims where necessary. Resource planning, including manpower and equipment histograms, is coordinated to optimize productivity and minimize conflicts.

- In addition, the Planning Manager prepares weekly and monthly planning reports, presents schedule updates to management and clients, and provides early warnings of potential risks affecting project timelines.

- Leadership of planning engineers and ensuring adherence to planning standards and procedures are also key responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience

. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

. Minimum 10-15 years of construction experience.

. At least 5 years in a managerial planning role on large-scale projects.

. Strong experience in CPM scheduling, Delay analysis, and EOT management
