Job Summary
We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Piping Engineer specializing in design engineering works for industrial and process facilities. The role involves piping layout design, stress analysis, material selection, and preparation of engineering deliverables in compliance with international codes and project specifications. The candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, cost-effective, and constructible piping systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop piping layouts and routing based on P&IDs and process requirements.
- Perform piping design calculations including line sizing (hydraulic calculations), wall thickness calculations, pressure drop calculations, pump head calculations
- Prepare piping material specifications and data sheets.
- Select appropriate piping materials based on pressure, temperature, corrosion, and service requirements.
- Develop piping general arrangement (GA) drawings and isometrics.
- Ensure piping design meets safety, operability, and maintainability requirements.
- Design piping systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards such as ASME B31.1 / B31.3, API standards, ASTM material standards.
- Participate in HAZOP and design review meetings.
- Design pipe supports and guide/anchor arrangements.
- Develop 3D models using software such as PDMS / E3D, SP3D, Plant 3D
- Perform clash detection and resolve interface issues.
- Extract isometric drawings and MTO (Material Take-Off) from 3D models.
- Review vendor drawings for integration into piping system.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Atleast 5 years of piping design experience (depending on seniority).
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Semiconductor, Power Plant, or Industrial projects preferred.
- Experience in EPC or engineering consultancy environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge in cleanroom or semiconductor piping (for advanced manufacturing projects).
