Job Description

We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented Gasoline / Petrochemical Trader to join our dynamic trading team. This role offers the chance to play a key part in our refinery's trading operations spanning imports, exports, and third-party deals with a strong focus on the gasoil market.

This is a unique opportunity to build a long-term career in energy trading while gaining exposure to international commodity markets.

What You'll Do

  • Trade light-end and petrochemical products (physical and derivatives) to capture market opportunities and achieve business goals.
  • Track and analyze oil and gas market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and sentiment drivers.
  • Manage trading risks, including price fluctuations and credit exposure.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, brokers, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee logistics, shipping, and operations to ensure timely delivery of cargoes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Review trade performance (P&L) and recommend strategy adjustments to maximize results.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (commodity trading certifications a plus).
  • 35 years of proven experience in gasoline or petrochemical trading (physical + derivatives).
  • Strong knowledge of global energy markets, especially crude oil, gasoline, and gasoil.
  • Track record of success in trading with measurable results.

Skills & Competencies

  • Sharp analytical and market interpretation skills.
  • Deep understanding of trading strategies, financial instruments, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Resilient under pressure with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Languages

  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin (essential for working in a multicultural, global environment).

Preferred

  • Knowledge of the Chinese energy market and international trade regulations.
  • Genuine passion for refinery-focused trading and long-term growth in energy markets.
