Job Description

  • Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, tarts, breads, and desserts.
  • Design and decorate cakes and pastries according to customer or restaurant requirements.
  • Develop new recipes and improve existing ones to ensure quality and creativity.
  • Measure, mix, and bake ingredients using proper equipment and techniques.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of all baked products.
  • Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to produce desired results.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and baking area, following food safety standards.
  • Manage inventory of ingredients, check stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers.
  • Train and supervise junior bakers or assistants in proper baking and decorating techniques.
  • Plan production schedules based on daily or seasonal demands.
  • Handle traditional and festive pastries, such as mooncakes or holiday specialties.
  • Ensure cost control by minimizing waste and optimizing ingredient usage.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to meet overall menu and event needs.
