Working Hour:
- Tuesdays, Thurdays and Fridays : 8.30am to 12.30pm.
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Requirement:
- At least a Diploma in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling
- Possess at least 3 years of relevant experience - Counselling and Guidance Work preferably with young children - Case Management or Social Work
- Pleasant disposition and good interpersonal skills
- Proficient in written and spoken English
Job Scope:
Counselling Work:
- Provide individual counselling to pupils being referred
- Conduct face-to-face counselling
- Consult Teachers/ CCE HOD/ School Leaders regarding pupils being counselled
- Work with families of pupils being counselled
- Conduct home visits (with school personnel) where necessary
- Refer pupils and their families to community resources for specialised assistance where necessary
- Provide regular feedback to the school administration and teachers concerned on the work done with the pupils counselled
- Provide consulation to teachers/parents on non-referral cases and other counselling-related matters
- Conduct relevant groupwork/workshops/activities for pupils with special emotional needs
- Provide group-counselling to pupils being referred
Counselling-related activities:
- Documentation of cases and all counselling work done
- Be aware of and network/liaise with relevant social service agencies which are not specifically related to cases
- Reaching out to pupils and parents for rapport building and creating understanding of counselling services
- Conduct training related to social and emotional development of pupils for teachers or parents
