Optical Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Optical Engineer to be part of our team. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for optical components and systems. The ideal candidate will have 3 years background in optical engineering, manufacturing techniques, and quality control processes, ensuring the production of high-precision optical products.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Development and Optimization:
- Design and implement manufacturing processes for optical components, including lenses, mirrors, prisms, and coatings.
- Optimize fabrication methods such as grinding, polishing, coating, and assembly to improve efficiency and precision
Production Support:
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Ensure that all production processes meet quality and performance specifications.
Equipment and Technology Management:
- Specify, procure, and maintain manufacturing equipment for optical production.
- Develop and implement advanced technologies, such as automated systems and CNC machines, to enhance production capabilities.
Quality Assurance:
- Develop and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, MIL-PRF-13830).
- Perform inspections, measurements, and testing of optical components using interferometers, profilometers, and other metrology tools.
Design Collaboration:
- Work closely with optical designers to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Provide feedback on design adjustments for optimal production results.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, and technical reports.
- Analyse production data and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead initiatives to enhance product yield, reduce costs, and improve cycle times.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in optical manufacturing and incorporate them into the production process.
