Job Description

Production Technician - Electrical and Electronics

Aliena is a leading Singapore-based space-tech company producing Hall thruster satellite engines. In January 2022 Aliena broke the record for being onboard the smallest satellite ever to host a Hall plasma thruster in-orbit. Since then, the company closed several national and international sales and R&D contracts with customers from Europe and Asia. Our engines are mission agnostic, serving all types of missions in any branch of space exploration or space economy, from very low Earth orbits to deep space.

By joining our dynamic and visionary team, you will take part in defining the future of state-of-the-art low power plasma propulsion systems.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and harnessing of electrical and electromechanical subsystems for Hall thrusters, in particular the thruster control unit (TCU) and other assemblies.
  • Execute test procedures and assist in functional testing of components, subsystems, and systems.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory and production equipment, including basic diagnostic tools.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, repeatability, and traceability.
  • Identify and report non-conformances or defects during assembly and testing.
  • Support engineers in troubleshooting and rework of faulty hardware.
  • Support production engineers in the design and development of testing jigs and testing, validation, and verification procedures.
  • Maintain accurate production records, test logs, and traceability documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, especially for high-voltage and vacuum systems, if required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or technical training in electrical and electronic engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience with electronic assembly, wiring, and soldering (preferably to IPC standards).
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Basic understanding of high-voltage safety practices and electrical handling procedures.
  • Experience working in controlled environments(cleanroom or precision assembly settings) is a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings ,schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality and traceability documentation.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills for working with engineers and production staff.
