Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility and ownership for a full spectrum of shipping operations, contracts management and documentation with guidance and support from supervisors and senior team members
  • Handle a full set of shipping documents for shipment execution, ensuring fast turnaround for shipment processes, contracts allocations & vessel nominations
  • Coordinate shipments with suppliers, buyers, shipbrokers, chartering, ship owners/agents, surveyors, insurers etc., to ensure smooth loading and delivery
  • Liaise with banks on Letters of Credit opening, clean negotiation and collection documentation
  • Work on SAP/ITAS/related system for invoicing, allocations and matching
  • Follow up on operational matters including demurrages/despatch, receivables, payables, clients ageing accounts etc
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (Commercial, Risk, Global offices, Finance, Accounts, Pricing, Chartering etc) to ensure execution risks are identified in advance and possible solutions are explored
  • Proactively highlights and resolves issues related to the shipment execution
  • Adhere to Company's SOPs to ensure smooth and compliant execution
  • Support other ad‑hoc shipping or operational activities as instructed

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • No prior experience required and on the job training provided.
  • Interest in shipping operations, trade documentation and commodity trading; exposure or basic knowledge of bulk shipments, Letters of Credit, UCP 600 / ISBP, contracts, laytime or Charter Party terms will be an advantage, but is not mandatory as training will be provided
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), comfortable with digital tools and open to learning and applying AI solutions to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy
  • Able to work under deadlines with guidance and progressively increased responsibility
  • Logical, numerate and possessing good analytical skills
  • Diligent and able to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced working environment. Fast learner with a strong sense of urgency
  • Meticulous, detail‑oriented, able to multitask and a good team player
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable supporting global teams and adapting to different time zones as needed.
