We offer

As Operations Executive in our dry bulk MPP & Minibulk operations, you hold an essential role in ensuring high quality and flawless operation of our vessels and meeting the demands of our customers. You will be in daily contact with several stakeholders such as captains, port agents, owners, charterers, and finally our Ultra colleagues in our offices all around the world. You will find yourself in a varied job with an informal tone, and where we encourage initiative and innovation.

As Operations Executive, you will:

  • Execute daily operations in MPP& Minibulk with due consideration to customer focus, voyage optimization,and stakeholder management
  • Operate and manage voyages in Africa / Asia / North America
  • Close follow-up on voyage related expenses
  • Visits to vessels, ports and customers
  • Participate in various operational projects
  • Provide operational insight to the chartering department to optimize future fixtures
  • Resolve operational challenges together with our in-house legal team and P&I club
  • Play an important part in the support of our chartering team to ensure a cost-effective voyage execution

Who we're looking for

You have a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in an Operations position in the drybulk industry, and a strong global industry network to support our continued growth in our MPP & Minibulk Services Operations.

You demonstrate good communication skills and possess a problem-solving mindset. You are a true team player and at the same time able to work independently by taking ownership of your tasks your follow-up and ability to deliver is second to none. You take pride in delivering excellent service to our customers and skills such as persistence, overview and can-do attitude will support our ambition of being A Partner You Can Trust.

Furthermore, we expect that you have/ are:

  • Prior experience and good knowledge in operating MPP/ Minibulk vessels are essential
  • Prior experience in operating ships in Africa / Asia / North America with a particular focus on ports in East and West Africa as well as the Baltic Sea.
  • Experience in Laytime is an advantage
  • A relevant university-level education in shipping or maritime studies
  • Excellent IT skills and proficiency in Softmar
  • A responsible self-starter who proactively contributes ideas and solutions
  • Motivated by a hectic environment where priorities constantly change and innovation is daily business
  • Appreciation of working in a multicultural environment with English as our corporate language, fluency in written and spoken English is a prerequisite
