Job Description

PES is an international services company providing Project Management, Construction Management, Commissioning & Qualification and Automation services to our clients in the pharmaceutical, nutritional and related sectors.

With offices across Europe, Asia and US, our core focus is on consistently delivering high quality outcomes for our multinational clients.

The Operations Director oversees all activities within their scope in order to ensure economic performance, customer satisfaction, strategic development, and team retention.

They manage several business units (BUs) across different geographic territories. These BUs are made up of teams of consultants, business managers, and talent acquisition specialists. As such, they are responsible for implementing the group's strategy at the BU level and ensuring compliance with the group's processes and best practices.

To achieve this, they hold a dual role: commercial and managerial.
They are responsible for developing the group's client portfolio by retaining existing customers and prospecting potential new clients, with the objective of gaining new market share. In addition to their commercial role, they supervise teams of consultants, business managers, BU managers, and talent acquisition specialists, and also take part in their recruitment and skills development.

Furthermore, they ensure the promotion of the group's values and image both internally and externally, and are responsible for implementing and rolling out the group's strategies across the business units under their responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
Business Unit Management

  • Define and implement the BU strategy in line with the group's directions and objectives
  • Prepare the annual budget, monitor performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure profitability
  • Act as the interface with the Group's Executive Management

Business Development

  • Identify new prospects and business opportunities
  • Ensure prospecting of new clients (outreach, meetings, follow-up, etc.) and new projects with existing clients
  • Support business managers in prospecting activities and qualification meetings
  • Draft commercial proposals tailored to clients needs
  • Negotiate commercial terms and ensure contract closure in coordination with the legal affairs department
  • Organize presentations for prospects to showcase the full range of the group's offerings
  • Monitor the competition and update the customer database
  • Participate in events to develop strategic partnerships
  • Implement client retention initiatives
  • Manage any potential conflict situations

Recruitment

  • Apply the group's recruitment procedures
  • Actively participate in the recruitment process: identify profiles, conduct interviews, develop school partnerships, etc.
  • Finalize the recruitment process for candidates within their BU (contract presentation, signing, etc.)
  • Contribute to partnerships with schools and participate in career fairs

Management

  • Supervise consultant teams (onboarding, regular follow-up, annual reviews, etc.)
  • Monitor assignments and act as the liaison between consultants and clients
  • Identify training needs and support employees in their professional development
  • Monitor working hours and workload
  • Ensure administrative management (review and validation of activity reports, leave requests, expense reports, etc.)
  • Prepare safety assessments if applicable at the start of assignments
  • Supervise BU managers, business managers, and talent acquisition (onboarding, skills development, regular follow-up, annual reviews, etc.)
  • Manage any potential conflict situations

Performance Monitoring

  • Continuously record and monitor commercial activity using the internal management software
  • Provide regular reporting on activity through the group's internal indicators and tools
  • Analyze client feedback and monitor customer satisfaction
  • Prepare presentations for management on project progress and commercial results
  • Develop and monitor the execution of a business plan
  • Analyze financial results and manage corrective action plans
  • Ensure regular reporting to the Group's Management
  • Arbitrate and make decisions in line with the group's strategies and values

Key Qualifications and Skills
Qualification

  • Degree et level : Master's degree: business school and/or engineering school
  • Experience : At least 5 years of experience as a BM in the consulting sector

Technical skills

  • Strong command of sales and communication techniques
  • Strong understanding of the various consultant profiles/roles and different industry sectors
  • Knowledge of obligations related to health and safety regulations
  • Management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools
