NUH Internship Programme(Jan 2027 – Jun 2027)

Curious about the inner workings of a hospital Join NUH on a 6-month full time internship to gain a comprehensive understanding of the operational aspects of healthcare organisations. Explore critical functions of hospital administration such as operations, human resource, communications, and quality improvement that support the smooth delivery of patient care.

Work location: NUHS Tower Block

Role Overview:

Support the Clinical Operations team in two key workstreams: the set-up of a new inpatient ward and the annual procurement of consumables for General Wards. Where bandwidth allows, the intern will also have the opportunity to contribute to clinic process improvement and innovation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating the set-up of Ward 12, including tracking of equipment, furniture, and supply procurement
  • Maintain project trackers and status updates to ensure timely follow-through on outstanding items
  • Liaise with internal departments and external vendors on procurement and delivery matters
  • Consolidate and process annual consumable requests from nine General Wards under Dept of Medicine
  • Prepare and organise procurement documentation, purchase requisitions, and approval records
  • Support data collation, benchmarking, and reporting to assist in procurement decision-making
  • Assist with general administrative tasks and ad-hoc operational support as required
  • (Where bandwidth permits) Participate in clinic process improvement and innovation initiatives, gaining exposure to how clinical operations teams identify inefficiencies and implement solutions
