Overview
A prominent global commodities trading group is looking to enhance their operational risk capabilities, and is embarking on a special project. Due to the work demands arising from the project, they are now on the search for an Operational Risk Advisor on a 1-year contract, with the option for renewal. You will be part of a high-profile team playing a key role in enhancing operational resilience across trading and corporate functions. This is a great opportunity for those with no commodities experience interested to gain a foot into commodities.

Role
Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk, you will support a broad spectrum of operational risk initiatives, including risk assessments, internal control development, process and workflow mapping, and the development of robust operating procedures and control documentation. Working closely with trading desks and crossfunctional stakeholders, you will review risks arising from new business activities, monitor key risk indicators, and support organizationwide control reviews. You will also assist in ensuring alignment across process documents, facilitating walkthroughs, and tracking incident and remediation actions to strengthen governance standards.

Requirements
The successful candidate will be a degree qualified, with around 5 years work experience in operational risk management, internal controls in a trading environment. You demonstrate strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, internal controls, process mapping methodologies, and end-to-end trading workflows. Those with no experience in commodities trading however, will be expected to have a strong understanding of trading flows. Experience in compliancerelated processes is beneficial. You are best described as analytical, an effective communicator, and highly organized, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
