Operation Risk Specialist (1 Yr contract, subjects to renewal/ conversion)

A newly created role withinthe Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) environment, plays a vital partin strengthening the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of trading dataacross the organization.

Acting as a bridge betweenFront Desk data entry and downstream consumption, you will ensure thathigh-quality data flows seamlessly to Risk, Settlement, and accountingfunctions. You will champion data control standards, proactively identify andresolve issues, and enable stakeholders to confidently rely on system data fordecision-making and reporting.

KeyResponsibilities:

Data Quality Monitoring & Governance

Monitor and assess the completeness, accuracy, andtimeliness of data within ETRM systems

Provide practical, hands-on guidance to Front Desk userson data entry standards and best practices

Partner with Risk, Settlement, and accounting teams tosupport data review processes and ensure data integrity for downstream use

Establish and track key data quality metrics andcontinuously improve control frameworks

Issue Management & Root Cause Analysis

Investigate recurring data discrepancies and qualityissues raised by stakeholders

Perform root cause analysis to identify underlyingdrivers (e.g., manual errors, process gaps, system integration issues)

Recommend and implement sustainable corrective actions toprevent recurrence

Work closely with business and technology teams toresolve data-related challenges

Documentation & Standards

Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance clear,role-specific documentation on ETRM data standards

Create user-friendly quick reference guides to supportconsistent and accurate data entry

Ensure documentation reflects current processes andevolving business requirements

Training & Stakeholder Engagement

Design and deliver targeted training sessions to FrontDesk users and relevant stakeholders

Raise awareness of the downstream impact of data qualityon risk reporting, settlement accuracy, and financial accounting

Act as a trusted advisor to promote a culture of dataownership and accountability across teams

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

3-10 years of experience in trade support, ETRM operations, internal control, risk control, or finance

Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and how dataquality impacts Risk, Settlement, Accounting, and reporting

Familiarity with data governance practices, issuetracking, and escalation processes

Analytical thinking with the ability to perform effectiveroot cause analysis

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability towork across Front Desk and control functions

Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracyand control

Hands-on, proactive, and solution-driven

Bilingual in Mandarin. Able to produce reports inChinese.
