Job Description

Jurong Port's multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides Singapore, Jurong Port is involved in overseas joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port's local and overseas terminals handled close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, and 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.

Operations Support:

  • Responsible for the planning, design, installation, configuration and support of both on-premise and cloud network assets (including but not limited to LAN, WAN, internet, leased lines, routers, core and access switches, firewalls, cabling, cloud network components etc)
  • Manage the lifecycle of all network assets and ensure that end-of-life assets are replaced timely.
  • Manage, configure and optimize complex core and access network assets to ensure alignment to network performance levels, security standards and regulations
  • Recommend process or service improvements for resource optimization and cost savingsAssist in the development of SLA, metrics and performance indicators
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve and document multi-faceted network issues and incidents
  • Perform network capacity monitoring and planning for network resources
  • Maintain operational documentation, SOP and work processes
  • Review and update of relevant IT policies and procedures

Project implementation and technology enhancement:

  • Explore suitable technologies and solutions to meet current and future IT needs.
  • Manage large-scale and/or complex network projects, including the technology assessment, procurement, implementation and transition to support
  • Provide oversight on project undertaken by junior team member
  • Collaborate across various IT teams to ensure smooth delivery of new implementations
  • Provide technical expertise and inputs to tender documents for network-related infrastructure projects
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies to enhance overall network infrastructure
  • Review and perform maintenance support contract renewal

Cybersecurity, BCP and compliance:

  • Assess and respond to network-related cybersecurity issues, incidents, advisories, vulnerabilities and risks, including implementing resolutions or mitigation
  • Ensure relevant firmware upgrade and patches are rolled out timely to network assets
  • Participate in annual DR exercise and/or BCP activities
  • Ensure network devices comply with internal policy and regulatory requirements
  • Identify improvement areas to existing network-related policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or relevant field
  • Possess relevant IT certifications including CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, Checkpoint CCSA, cloud certifications (eg AWS, Azure) will be preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
  • Deep technical knowledge in networking technologies and protocols
  • Know-how in designing, deploying, managing and operating large-scale network and security infrastructure
  • Strong vendor and project management skillset
  • Knowledge in designing and managing cloud IaaS infrastructure (eg AWS)
  • Hands-on experience and problem-solving skills in network administration and support
  • Experience in supporting various network hardware Eg Cisco/Huawei switches and routers
  • Experience in supporting various security hardware -Eg Checkpoint, Fortigate, Cisco, Palo Alto firewall, Aruba/Cisco wireless controller, VPN, NAC
  • Strong knowledge in network design principles, tools and technologies including but not limited to LAN, WAN, firewalls, IPS, VPN, MFA, CDN, DNS, VoIP, scripting network access control and public cloud
