Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Implementation

• Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center networks.

• Configure and manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.

• Support network upgrades, migrations, and expansions with minimal downtime.

Operations & Support

• Provide Level 2 / Level 3 network support, including root cause analysis and incident resolution.

• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity proactively identify and resolve issues.

• Perform regular network health checks and preventive maintenance.

Security & Compliance

• Implement and manage network security controls such as firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.

• Support compliance with organizational security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, SOPs, and change records.

• Prepare technical documentation and operational reports for management and stakeholders.

Collaboration & Projects

• Work closely with system administrators, cloud engineers, security teams, and vendors.

• Participate in infrastructure and application projects requiring network integration.

• Coordinate with external service providers and OEMs for troubleshooting and support cases.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, STP, NAT, QoS.

• Hands-on experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and switching technologies.

• Experience with firewalls and VPN technologies (site-to-site and remote access).

• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

• Exposure to cloud networking (AWS / Azure / GCP) is an advantage.

Tools & Technologies

• Enterprise networking vendors (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, HPE/Aruba).

• Network monitoring and management tools.

• ITSM / ticketing systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Network+, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent).
