About the Team:

Our Infrastructure team provides the end-to-end managed services and solutions for the entire group's Internet infrastructure alongside running business applications. We excel in building the architecture, providing solutions, deployment and operations of data centers, connectivity, cloud, networking, servers, system, storage, software, platforms and security. As a Data Center Mechanical Specialist, you will work with a team of engineers and technologists to support the delivery and operation of reliable, energy efficient data center infrastructure. You will play a key role in cooling system design reviews, CFD result validation, liquid cooling implementation, fire protection and BMS integration activities. This role focuses on testing and commissioning activities to verify system performance and operational readiness to ensure systems meet design intent, operational requirements, and energy efficiency targets. This role will primarily focus on data center HVAC and Building Management System (BMS) integration for our own platform system across both new data center developments and existing colocation facilities.

Job Description:

  • Review data center mechanical engineering designs, calculations and technical submissions, and contribute to value engineering and cost performance assessments.
  • Assist in reviewing mechanical system layouts, drawings, and specifications, such as HVAC system, Fire protection system, Plumbing & Sanitary system, BMS system, and Security system.
  • Lead or support cooling system design reviews and optimization studies to ensure efficient thermal performance and system resilience; experience in liquid-cooled solutions will be an advantage.
  • Support airflow management and validation of cooling strategies, including CFD simulation review and result validation.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities for mechanical and electrical systems, including FAT, SAT, and IST
  • Liaise with internal platform and system teams to establish BMS monitoring and control systems, ensuring seamless integration with all relevant M&E control systems.
  • Provide technical input on BMS/CPOS/EPMS/DCIM integration, including verifying control logic, monitoring, trending, and operational visibility.
  • Maintain documentation and assist in the development of lifecycle operation and maintenance standards.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Design Consultant / Testing & Commissioning Agent / Product Manager / Solution Architect / M&E Contractor / Facility Management in data center or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Strong technical knowledge with data center cooling services, including chilled water systems, chiller control systems, condenser water systems, pump controls, direct evaporative systems, AHU units (DX, split, CRAC / CRAH, FWU etc.).
  • Working knowledge of raised floor systems, hot/cold aisle containment solutions, and liquid cooling technologies.
  • Familiarity with the commissioning standards and best practices (e.g. ASHRAE, ISO).
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards including BCA, SCDF, NFPA, ASHRAE, LEED, and GreenMark.
  • Knowledge of BMS system architecture, PLC / DCC controllers, networking, and integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, SNMP) is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications from Professional Engineers Board / Uptime Institute (e.g. ATD / ATS) / TIA-942 (e.g. CDCP / CDCS) / DCD are a plus.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and results-driven; capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player, able to work well across teams and organizations.
  • Resourceful and well-connected within the Data Center market is an advantage.
