Mechanical Engineering Design Intern

The Mechanical Engineering Design Internship Program offers hands-on experience in the design and development of advanced semiconductor test equipment used by leading technology companies worldwide. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects, gaining practical exposure to product design, engineering documentation, simulation, testing, and product lifecycle management.

Internship Responsibilities And Learning Objectives

The intern will gain experience and competency in the following areas:

• Develop an understanding of Teradyne's engineering design and product development processes.
• Learn and utilize Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software for engineering data and revision management.
• Learn and use the SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management) for design file management and document control.
• Perform basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations and interpret results.
• Generate detail mechanical designs and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks CAD platform.
• Participate in design verification activities, including test planning, preparation, execution, and result documentation.
• Prepare Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), assembly instructions, technical manuals, and other engineering documentation.
• Develop a good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and design-for-manufacturing principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
