Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Tru-Marine. The role involves designing, maintaining, and optimizing mechanical systems for vessels and offshore installations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient marine operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, analyze, and maintain mechanical systems such as ship engines, propulsion systems, pumps, piping, and HVAC systems.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical machinery for marine projects.

• Ensure compliance with marine regulations and classification society standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register).

• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and manuals for mechanical systems.

• Collaborate with naval architects, electrical engineers, and project teams to ensure integrated solutions.

• Support operational teams with technical guidance and problem-solving.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.

• Professional certification (e.g., Chartered Engineer or Class Society certification) is a plus.

• Experience in marine systems, ship repair, offshore maintenance, or shipbuilding.

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools.

• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mechanical systems.

• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with marine propulsion, auxiliary machinery, pumps, and HVAC systems.

• Knowledge of ship stability, ballast systems, and predictive maintenance tools.

• Experience managing marine or offshore engineering projects.
