This role works closely with system engineers to translate design specifications into robust mechanical solutions — from component selection, tolerance analysis, and motion system design through to manufacturing release and customer-site installation. The incumbent leads co-development projects with internal and external design partners, manages vendor deliverables against specification and reliability requirements, and provides escalation support during assembly and validation phases. This is a hands-on engineering role suited for a technically strong professional who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional development environment.

Job responsibilities:

  • Responsible for mechanical component selection, tolerance analysis, motion system design, component evaluation, overall system integration and finally release to manufacturing and installation at customers sites.
  • Leading and supervising an internal or external design partner in co-development project.
  • Manage external vendor or contractors to deliver sub-systems that meet design specification and reliability requirements.
  • Provide escalation support during equipment assembly, validation, customer-site.

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field with 3 years or more experience in semiconductor/automation products.
  • Experienced in wafer fabrication process industry, semiconductor equipment industry or medical equipment industry is preferred.
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical concepts and problem-solving skills, including knowledge in stack tolerance and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Proficiency with Solidworks (or equivalent CAD tools) is a MUST.
  • Experience with vision application, thermal modeling, calculation and measurement techniques would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to get hands-on during development cycle.
  • Excellent communications skills, with cross-cultural awareness and understanding.
