Position Summary
We are seeking a talented and driven Mechanical Engineer to join our Test Cell Solutions department. This role will focus on the end-to-end design and development of mechanical systems and sub-systems, from initial specifications to manufacturing release and customer site installation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a creative and collaborative team at the forefront of technology, trends and practices.
Responsibilities
- System Design Collaboration: Work with system engineers to define mechanical system and sub-system design specifications.
- Mechanical Design and Integration: Oversee mechanical component selection, tolerance analysis, motion system design, component evaluation, overall system integration and finally release to manufacturing and installation at customers sites.
- Co-Development Leadership: Lead and supervise an internal or external design partner in co-development project.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Manage external vendors or contractors to deliver sub-systems that meet design specification and reliability requirements.
- Escalation support: Provide escalation support during equipment assembly, validation, customer-site.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field, with 3 years or more experience in semiconductor / automation products.
- Experience in wafer fabrication process industry, semiconductor equipment industry or medical equipment industry is preferred.
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical concepts and problem-solving skills, including knowledge in stack tolerance and Finite Element Analysis.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD tools) is a must.
- Experience with vision application, thermal modelling, calculation and measurement techniques would be an advantage.
- Willingness to get hands-on during development cycle.
- Excellent communications skills, with cross-cultural awareness and understanding.
- Willingness to work extended hours in critical phases of project execution.
