We are partnering with a leading energy trading company to hire a
Market Analyst. This role involves deep analysis of global energy markets, with a strong focus on long-term trends and the impact of the energy transition. Key responsibilities include quantitative modeling, tracking market fundamentals and policy developments, and delivering strategic insights to support business planning and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Track and report key risk exposures and P&L changes to senior management and the Board.
- Ensure trading activity stays within approved risk limits, and flag any breaches as needed.
- Evaluate the risk impact of new products and support their implementation from a controls standpoint.
- Drive or contribute to improvements in risk frameworks, processes, and analytical tools.
- Stay on top of market movements and actively manage the firms risk profile.
- Act as the main point of contact between the risk team, front office, and other key stakeholders, while collaborating closely with colleagues in Europe.
Requirements
- A degree in Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field with 25 years of hands-on experience in commodities P&L reporting
- Experience supporting traders with market insights and pricing analysis
- Strong analytical skills with understanding of risk metrics and trading lifecycle
