Roles and Key Responsibilities
CIX is looking for a Market Operations and Business Analyst who will be a part of a cohesive, highly motivated team in a fast paced and collaborative environment. The candidate will be part of the team responsible for conducting operations, support and business analysis for all the CIX platforms and services. They will also work with other stakeholders to identify business changes and regulatory developments. The individual will report to the Director of Operations.
Market Operations Analyst
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct trade operations including settlement, dispute resolution and reconciliation
- Ensure cash and credit balance reconciliations are cleared and documented.
- Develop and execute the controls as required to enhance market operations.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all platforms.
- Support regular and ad hoc reporting for all products.
- Create and maintain static and market data relating to CIX clients and products.
- Work closely with appointed stakeholders to ensure systems and processes are alignment for pre- and post-trade activities.
- Conduct client on boarding to the CIX platforms including AML/KYC checks
- Manage and respond to all client support queries
- Publish CIX Intelligence products daily
- Support documentation of business requirements, workflows, and process changes.
- Assist in creating flow diagrams, checklists, and operational guides for new or updated processes.
- Help manage Jira tickets, including documenting issues, tracking progress, and following up with technology teams.
- Participate in testing new platform releases and enhancements (UAT), documenting results and raising defects where needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting small process changes based on observed pain points.
Experience
An ideal candidate would bring the following experience to this role:
- 1 - 5 years of professional experience in financial services industry specially within exchange market operations would be beneficial
- An understanding of exchange traded products and back-office processes and knowledge of carbon credits or other environmental trading assets would be beneficial.
- An understanding of KYC and AML practices
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills as the role includes engaging market participants and representatives
- Meticulous and detail-oriented
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile, and lean environment
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., technology, product, compliance) to deliver projects
- Exposure to business analysis, process mapping, or operational workflows
- Strong problem-solving mindset with willingness to learn and adapt quickly
- Meticulous attention to detail, with strong organizational skills to handle concurrent tasks
