We are seeking a highly experienced Marine Superintendent to represent to our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our assigned tanker fleet. This role focuses on maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental protection while ensuring the vessels remain commercially attractive to oil majors.
Lead the preparation, execution, and follow-up for SIRE and CDI inspections. Ensure all vessel observations are addressed with effective root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Monitor and maintain the company's Safety Management System (SMS). Conduct internal ISM, ISPS, and MLC audits to ensure full regulatory compliance.
Provide technical guidance on cargo operations, including loading, discharging, and complex tank cleaning procedures.
Conduct navigational audits and review passage plans to ensure the highest standards of bridge team management and safe navigation.
Lead investigations into marine incidents or near-misses, ensuring lessons learned are communicated across the fleet.
Act as the primary point of contact for Flag State, Port State Control, and Class Societies regarding marine and safety matters.
Holds a Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 1 (Deck).
Proven experience as a Master Mariner on board ocean-going tankers (Oil, Chemical, or Gas).
Prior experience as a Marine Superintendent within a ship management company is highly preferred.
Deep understanding of OCIMF/SIRE requirements, TMSA frameworks, and international maritime regulations (IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS).
Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to safety. Excellent communication skills for liaising with crew, port authorities, and clients.
Ability to manage emergency response situations and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
