Quality Assurance Superintendent (Offshore)

Duties &Responsibilities

. Carry out audits and inspections onboard

. Ensure that onboard crew competency is assessed, gapped and mentoring plans and training are carried out to close gaps

. Carry our crew behaviour and appraisal assessments

. Conduct risk-based audits of all operations with a particular focus on compliance with internal procedures.

. Responsible for carryout nominated Internal audits according to the agreed Inspection Program.

. Responsible for carrying out Competence gap identification onboard vessels

. Educate, mentor, and assist OSMThome personnel ashore and at sea to handle any safety management and security-related matters pertaining to their position or rank

. Carry out take-overtasks for new vessels into management with special focus on familiarity with SMS, PMS and routines for the new vessel

. Act and engage with crew onboard and other staff to drive Continuous Improvements to the SMS and to the Safety Culture

. Assist in keeping the QA Coach tools up to date

Qualifications & Competencies

. STCW Certificate of Competency

. IMO model course 6.09 Training course for instructors

. IMO model course 1.30 Onboard assessment

. Risk management, incident investigation and root cause analysis

. Internal auditor of integrated management system, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001

Required experiences

. Experienced seafarer

. Excellent knowledge of the with the company SMS(s)
