Manufacturing Engineer (Monozukuri)

Department: Monozukuri Engineering

Report to: Manager

Functional Relationships with: Machinery R&D division in Japan & Machinery Engineering section in ASEAN factories

POSITION PROFILE:

Based in: Yishun

The successful candidate will:

Responsible for and supporting equipment-related activities, including design, installation, debugging, troubleshooting, evaluation, and reporting.

Key Duties & Responsibilities :

• Identify and resolve equipment and process challenges at Murata's ASEAN production sites, while conducting market and technology research to support continuous improvement.

• Implement and standardize best practices for production equipment and systems across the organization.

• Provide support for equipment design, modification, and fabrication in control and software domains, including electrical hardware, PLC programming, and PC-based software.

• Develop and implement systems such as data utilization platforms and vision systems to enhance production efficiency.

• Manage installation, debugging, and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure reliable performance and minimal downtime.

Ability / Competency Required:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, software engineering or relevant engineering.

• Preferably 2-3 years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in PLC programming and high-level programming languages such as C/C++, VB, and Python.

• Experience in image processing, artificial intelligence (AI), or IT-related skills is an added advantage.

• Flexibility and readiness to travel on short- and mid-term assignments to Murata's production sites and partner vendors across ASEAN, Japan, and China.

• Excellent analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proactive mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
