Job Description

Sponsorship and donation income are critical for Esplanade's financial sustainability, to support the diversity and vibrancy of our public programming at the national performing arts centre. You play a critical role in generating funds and reducing business spend through sponsorship, philanthropic giving and partnerships.

You will support Head, Relationship Management and ensure that revenue targets and performance indicators are met. Together with other members of the team, you will work closely together to ensure effective communications of our fundraising initiatives and delivery of sponsors and donors benefits and expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

DEVELOPMENT & PLANNING

  • Support Head, Relationship Management in championing Esplanade's efforts to cultivate greater ownership of the arts through giving to our programmes for community and access, audience and artist development and to support our operational needs.
  • Implement strategies and frameworks, policies and procedures, initiatives and programmes for sponsorship and donations.
  • Meet annual revenue targets, performance indicators and contribute to overall workplanning and budgeting for the team.
  • Cultivate new, retain existing and build long-term relationships with key individual donors, foundations and family offices as well as corporations. This includes:
  • Regular engagements via hostings, presentations/meetings, sharing of Esplanade's impact and programme updates.
  • Networking to generate goodwill and capitalise on business opportunities.
  • Keeping abreast of business and arts developments.

FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Create new opportunities for fundraising including providing support and contributing ideas to appraise new business opportunities and ventures, conduct feasibility cost studies or cost-benefit analysis, where relevant.
  • Provide support and help to develop new initiatives and activities for fundraising and affinity programmes.
  • Project Management and operations planning including assisting in operations and efficiency of all projects undertaken and ensure best practices for the team.
  • Work closely with the administrative support and marketing teams to fulfill sponsors/donors requirements and contractual commitments, department hostings and other matters.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION

  • Use all systems and databases such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) in a highly disciplined manner, including accurate and timely input.
  • Maintain organised and proper records for sponsors and donors. To ensure that all approval papers, legal contracts, invoices and payment are followed up.
  • Provide relevant information to or compile management reports and papers as and when necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifications in business administration, marketing or related discipline is preferred but not a must have.
  • At least 5 years experience in fundraising functions or business development. Must have a wide network of business and high-net-worth individual contacts.
  • An in-depth understanding of the giving landscape is critical. Good understanding of the arts and culture landscape is valued.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with strong competencies in building rapport with business contacts and high-net-worth individuals

  • Resourcefulness, enthusiasm and personal motivation are paramount
  • Required to attend events and host in the evenings / weekends and Public Holidays.
