Manager, Legal Counsel

Our client is a leading global investment and trading group with a strong presence across Asia-Pacific. Operating across diverse industries, the company is involved in strategic investments, trading activities, and business development initiatives worldwide.

They are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support regional business operations across Asia-Pacific. This role will provide legal, transactional, compliance, and governance support while partnering closely with business stakeholders on strategic projects and cross-border transactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide legal advice on investments, commercial transactions, trading activities, and day-to-day business operations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, transaction documents, and corporate agreements.
• Support M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments, and cross-border transactions.
• Advise on legal, regulatory, compliance, and corporate governance matters across the region.
• Manage corporate secretarial, licensing, and regulatory filing requirements.
• Instruct and manage external counsel to ensure practical and cost-effective legal support.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Support regional legal initiatives, reporting, and governance projects.

REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified lawyer admitted in Singapore or another common law jurisdiction.
• 5–8 years PQE gained in a combination of private practice and in-house environments.
• Strong experience in corporate, commercial, and transactional legal work.
• Exposure to M&A, investments, joint ventures, and cross-border transactions.
• Familiarity with APAC regulatory and compliance matters.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work independently and provide commercially focused legal advice.
