Manager, Finance (GL & Tax)

Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore's Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

GL Maintenance & Oversight

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger accounts.
• Ensure all journal entries are properly recorded, reviewed, and approved.
• Reconcile sub-ledgers (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets) to the general ledger.
  
  

Month-End & Year-End Close

• Own the completeness and accuracy of entity ledgers and certify entity reporting submissions before hand-off to Group Reporting team for monthly/quarterly/year end closing.
• Reconcile and confirm intercompany transactions and balances at entity level, investigate mismatches and resolve differences before submission for group consolidation.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors during financial closing.
• Manage the preparation of audited financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Manage the preparation of entity-level statutory financial statements, audit schedules and supporting documentation, while supporting Group Reporting on consolidated financial statements and group-audit deliverables.
  
  

Account Reconciliation & Financial Analysis

• Handle account reconciliations and ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform account-level analysis, including investigation of unusual movements, aged reconciling items and balance-sheet exceptions.
  
  

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards (e.g. FRS).
  
  

Tax Compliance

• Prepare and file direct and indirect tax returns (e.g., corporate income tax, GST, withholding tax, property tax).
• Key liaison with tax agent on tax related matters:
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for tax filings and queries
• Review and ensure all other supporting schedules prepared by other team members are reasonable and accurate
• Ensure compliance with tax laws.
  
  

Systems & Process Improvements

• Work with IT and ERP teams to optimize financial systems.
• Improve automation and efficiency in reporting and tax processes.
• Participate in Finance transformation, ERP enhancements and process improvements initiatives.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in finance, accounting or equivalent professional qualification is preferred with minimum 5 years of experience in the above scope. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP experience is preferred).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
