Job Description

Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager, Risk Management & Intercompany Loans supports the Group treasury and finance function by identifying and managing financial, operational, and treasury-related risks, while overseeing the end-to-end administration and monitoring of intercompany loans. The role strengthens risk governance, ensures accurate and compliant loan management, and provides timely reporting to support management decision-making and effective funding utilization across the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, monitor, and report financial, operational, and treasury-related risks.
  • Develop, maintain, and periodically review risk management policies, procedures, controls, and related documentation.
  • Perform risk assessments, evaluate control effectiveness, and recommend practical mitigation measures.
  • Prepare clear and timely risk reports, dashboards, and analysis for management review.
  • Support the implementation of risk management initiatives and risk governance frameworks across relevant entities and stakeholders.

Intercompany Loans

  • Manage the Group's intercompany loan portfolio, including loan drawdowns, repayments, renewals, settlements, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate funding requirements and transaction timelines with subsidiaries, finance stakeholders, and regional treasury teams.
  • Review and monitor intercompany loan agreements to support compliance with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Perform and validate interest calculations, and support the accurate charging, settlement, and collection of interest.
  • Monitor funding utilization, outstanding balances, maturity profiles, repayment status, and exceptions requiring follow-up.
  • Prepare accurate and timely management reports on intercompany loan balances, movements, interest, maturity, and utilization.

Job Requirements:

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • A relevant professional qualification or certification in treasury, risk, finance, or accounting is advantageous, but not compulsory.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in treasury, financial risk management, corporate finance, banking, or a related function candidates with comparable depth of experience may also be considered.
  • Experience with intercompany loans, corporate funding, cash or liquidity management, treasury operations, or financial risk assessment is preferred.
  • Experience working in a regional or multinational environment and coordinating with subsidiaries or cross-border stakeholders is an advantage.

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Sound understanding of financial, operational, treasury, liquidity, counterparty, interest rate, and funding risks.
  • Working knowledge of intercompany loan administration, including agreements, drawdowns, repayments, renewals, settlements, interest calculations, and balance monitoring.
  • Awareness of internal controls, corporate governance, and regulatory or tax considerations relevant to intercompany financing. Specialist legal or tax expertise is not compulsory.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for calculations, reconciliations, data analysis, and management reporting familiarity with treasury management systems, ERP systems, or reporting tools is an advantage.

Core Competencies

  • Able to identify issues, assess risk implications, develop practical recommendations, and follow through on mitigation actions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with subsidiaries, regional teams, finance, tax, legal, and management stakeholders.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple transactions, deadlines, renewals, reporting cycles, and follow-up actions independently.
  • Demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, confidentiality, ownership, and a control-focused mindset.
  • Good written and spoken English for business communication and stakeholder coordination. Additional language capability relevant to the Group or region is advantageous where it supports business needs.

Preferred / Advantageous

  • Exposure to risk governance frameworks, policy implementation, control testing, or treasury transformation initiatives.
  • Experience preparing senior-management reports, dashboards, or committee materials.
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing principles, withholding tax considerations, benchmark interest rates, or cross-border financing documentation.
  • Experience with process improvement, automation, or data visualization in a treasury or finance environment.
