- Overseethemanagementandmaintenanceofthephysicalandvirtualinfrastructure,includingservers,storage,networkdevices,andpowerandcoolingsystems.
- Ensurethatthedatacenterinfrastructureissecure,reliable,scalable,andmeetstheorganization'sbusinessandoperationalneeds.
- Plan,implement,andupgradeinfrastructuretoensureitmeetsperformanceandcapacityrequirements.
TeamLeadershipandCollaboration:
- Lead,supervise,andcoordinatewithotherdepartments,includingIT,networkoperations,security,andfacilities,toensuresmoothdatacenteroperations.
- Defineandenforceoperationalstandardsandbestpracticesfordatacenterstaff.
CapacityPlanningandOptimization:
- Monitordatacenterperformance,capacity,andusagetoforecastfutureinfrastructureneedsandproactivelyaddresspotentialissues.
Developandimplementstrategiesforoptimizingtheuseofdatacenterresources,includingspace,power,cooling,andnetworkbandwidth.
ProjectManagement:
- Leadtheplanningandexecutionofvariousinfrastructureprojects,includingdatacenterbuilds,expansions,andmigrations.
- Managetimelines,budgets,andresourcestoensuresuccessfulprojectdelivery.
- Trackandreportprogressonkeymilestones,ensuringprojectsstayonscheduleandwithinbudget.
SecurityandCompliance:
- Ensurethedatacentermeetsindustrystandardsandcomplieswithrelevantsecurity,regulatory,andenvironmentalrequirements.
- Implementphysicalsecuritymeasuresandworkwithsecurityteamstoensuredataintegrityandaccesscontrol.
- Developdisasterrecoveryandbusinesscontinuityplansfordatacenteroperations.
TroubleshootingandIncidentManagement:
- Overseetroubleshootingeffortsandensurequickresolutionofanyinfrastructureissuesoroutages.
- Developandmaintainincidentresponseprocedurestominimizedowntimeandensurerecoveryobjectivesaremet.
- Maintainrootcauseanalysisandcontinuousimprovementprocessesforinfrastructureincidents.
CostManagement:
- Overseethebudgetfordatacenterinfrastructure,identifyingopportunitiesforcostreductionwhileensuringsystemperformanceandreliability.
- Negotiatecontractswithvendorsandmanagerelationshipswithserviceproviders.
DocumentationandReporting:
- Maintainup-to-datedocumentationforallinfrastructurecomponentsandprocesses.
- Generateandpresentreportsoninfrastructurehealth,performancemetrics,andprojectstatustoseniorleadership.
- Ensureaccurateassettrackingandreportingforallinfrastructurecomponents.
HealthandSafety:
- Ensurethatthedatacentercomplieswithsafetyregulationsandthatallstaffaretrainedinsafetyprotocols.
- Ensurepropermaintenanceoffiresuppressionsystemsandenvironmentalmonitoringdevices.
