Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and strategic Business Development Manager to identify, evaluate, and secure new data center development opportunities globally. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in expanding our site portfolio by building strong relationships with key stakeholders, driving commercial negotiations, and supporting cross-functional teams to successfully execute deals.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Sourcing & Evaluation
- Identify, screen, and evaluate potential data center development locations worldwide through targeted outreach, market research, industry networking, and collaboration with third-party brokers.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of viable, power-qualified sites, assessing site feasibility, associated risks, and commercial potential.
Business Development & Deal Origination
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with landowners, brokers, utility providers, and other strategic partners to secure new site opportunities.
- Lead the commercial negotiation process, including proposal development and drafting of term sheets for land, power, and infrastructure agreements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align deal terms with company strategy and ensure competitive positioning.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights
- Continuously monitor market trends in data centers, AI infrastructure, and cryptocurrency mining to identify emerging business opportunities and competitive threats.
- Translate market intelligence into actionable business strategies and growth initiatives.
Investment Support & Commercial Analysis
- Support the preparation of investment theses and business cases for potential sites incorporating commercial, technical, and regulatory considerations.
- Provide detailed analysis and recommendations to senior leadership to facilitate strategic go/no-go decisions.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Execution Support
- Facilitate seamless communication of approved commercial terms and site details to project management, construction, and operations teams.
- Ensure effective handover of site documentation to support timely procurement, permitting, and energization milestones.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Real Estate, or related fields.
- 8+ years of experience in business development, site acquisition, real estate, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record in deal origination, negotiation, and relationship management.
- Strong analytical and commercial evaluation skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and external partners.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
