Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and fast-paced Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintenance, resolving advanced technical issues, and ensuring the successful execution of any maintenance related works. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of multiple Access Control Systems and deep diagnostic capabilities.

You will work closely with Technical Managers to deliver secure, stable, and scalable maintenance works across mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

1. On-Site System Troubleshooting

• Act as the L1 and L2 escalation point for all technical issues across multiple client environments.

• Investigate root-cause analysis (RCA), incident resolution, and long-term corrective action planning.

• Diagnose advanced issues, credentialing workflows, hardware faults, network routing, and subsystem integrations.

• Engage vendor support teams for deep-dive troubleshooting, bug escalations, and patch management.

• Perform hardware replacement, firmware upgrade and system patching.

2. Multi-Platform System Expertise

Hands-on expertise in various Systems such as:

1. Gallagher

2. LenelS2 OnGuard

3. HID / Mercury-based systems

4. Genetec

5. Bosch

6. Suprema / ZKTeco / Axis

7. Milestone VMS

Ability to configure, integrate, and optimize controllers, readers, credential formats, PIN/biometric workflows, and enterprise permissions across platforms is essential.

3. Maintenance, Optimization & Lifecycle Management

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans, system health checks, and upgrade strategies.

• Ensure proper documentation: Service reports, update of any design document if any change or upgrade of hardware or firmware.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma / Nitec in IT, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field.

• Technical certifications in CCTV and Access Control systems are highly recommended.

Experience

• 5 - 7 years of hands-on experience

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of:

• Networking (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewalls)

• SQL databases, Windows Server, virtualized environments

• Door hardware (maglocks, strikes, sensors, interlocks)

• Identity and access management principles

• Video Management Software

Additional Requirements

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose both software and hardware issues.

• Willingness to perform hands-on field work

• Ability to work rotating shifts.

• Willing to perform standby or after-hours support upon fault call activation.

• Possession of a Class 3 driving license.
