M & E Draughtsman

Job Summary

-The M&E Draughtsman supports the engineering and design team in preparing detailed mechanical and electrical drawings and documentation for consultancy projects. The role involves translating design concepts and engineers instructions into accurate, coordinated drawings that comply with project, client, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

-Prepare, update, and maintain M&E design drawings, including HVAC, plumbing, sanitary, fire protection, electrical, and ELV systems, using AutoCAD or BIM software.

-Translate engineers sketches, mark-ups, and design concepts into clear and accurate technical drawings.

-Coordinate M&E layouts with architectural, structural, and other building services to ensure proper spatial planning and integration.

-Ensure all drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and authority requirements (e.g. BCA, SCDF, PUB, EMA).

-Assist engineers in design revisions, drawing updates, and technical documentation throughout project stages.

-Prepare submission drawings for authority approvals and assist in tracking submission status.

-Maintain systematic records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.

-Support the preparation of as-built drawings upon project completion.

-Liaise with internal design teams and external consultants to resolve discrepancies and ensure drawing accuracy.

Requirements

-Diploma or NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related engineering disciplines.

-Proficient in AutoCAD, knowledge of Revit MEP or BIM software is an advantage.

-Minimum 2-3 years of experience in M&E drafting within a consultancy or design environment.

-Good understanding of building services systems and authority submission requirements.

-Strong attention to detail, organisation, and commitment to quality work.

-Able to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary design teams.
