Our client, a tech and data-driven trading firm, is seeking a Linux System Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize a high-performance Linux server platform in a fast-paced trading environment.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and maintain Linux-based servers across data centers and cloud platforms
- Manage tiered storage solutions and support high-availability infrastructure
- Automate hardware and software tasks using scripting
- Monitor, analyze, and tune systems for low-latency performance
- Research and implement new technologies to improve efficiency
- Provide troubleshooting and infrastructure support as needed
Requirements
- 46 years of experience in systems engineering (degree in CS/CE a plus)
- Strong knowledge of Linux (RedHat, Ubuntu) and system performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform
- Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation
- Familiarity with configuration tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) and CI/CD workflows
- Experience with system monitoring tools (Prometheus, Nagios/Icinga, Alertmanager)
- Knowledge of storage systems, virtualization (VMware), and databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
- Ability to troubleshoot network performance issues (TCP/multicast)
- Self-motivated, proactive, and strong communicator
