Key Responsibilities
- Lead and advise on data privacy and protection matters (e.g. PDPA, GDPR, cross-border data flows)
- Draft and negotiate data-related agreements (DPAs, vendor, outsourcing, client contracts)
- Build and enhance data governance frameworks (policies, DPIAs, data mapping, retention)
- Partner with business teams to provide practical, commercially-focused legal advice
- Manage regulatory engagement, privacy incidents, and internal compliance initiatives
Key Requirements (Top 5)
- 5+ years PQE with experience in data privacy, technology, or regulatory legal work
- Qualified lawyer (common law jurisdiction preferred: SG / UK / US / HK)
- Strong knowledge of PDPA, GDPR, and cross-border data transfer requirements
- Experience in drafting contracts and advising on privacy frameworks
- Self-starter with builder mindset in fast-paced or high-growth environments
- Proficiency in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Chinese-speaking clients and counterparts.
