Join a leading global financial services group operating globally and support their commodity markets and financing business. This is a replacement position reporting into the general counsel for the APAC region within a team of 13 lawyers.
Responsibilities
Regional role including:
- Providing legal support for trading activities across diverse commodities
- Structuring trade finance transactions
- Assisting in the development of commodities financing products and instruments
- Offering expertise in financial derivative documentation and advice
- Providing legal counsel to front office, internal risk and compliance teams
- Supporting regulatory reform and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Ideally 1-4 PQE common law qualified lawyers with commodities trading/structured finance/trade finance experience acquired through a law firm, financial institution, or trading house
- Demonstrate knowledge of commodity markets and familiarity with derivatives and general finance documentation
- Exhibit drive, commitment, and strong organizational skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
- Display meticulous attention to detail and consistently deliver high-quality work
- Showcase commercial acumen and the ability to exercise quick and sound judgment in complex situations
- Cultivate strong working relationships with stakeholders and clients, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
