Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on maritime operations, contracts, and regulatory compliance
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
- Assess legal risks and devise risk mitigation strategies
- Represent the company in negotiations and dispute resolutions
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations impacting the maritime industry
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure legal compliance across operations
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and service providers
Requirements
- Law degree from a recognized institution and admission to the bar
- A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably in maritime law or shipping
- Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and legal practices
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in legal research and documentation tools
