Our client is a high-growth Regional Investment Platform providing specialized corporate and financial services to a leading global Alternative Asset Manager.
They are looking for a commercial, proactive, and detail-oriented Legal Counsel to join the team. This is a critical role providing high-quality legal support and strategic advice across a diverse and growing portfolio of assets.
As a key member of the legal function, you will act as a trusted advisor, navigating complex transactions and ensuring robust governance while supporting the firm's strategic objectives in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Transactional Support: Lead legal workstreams for acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures, including managing due diligence and drafting/negotiating transaction documents.
- Commercial Contracting: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including service contracts, NDAs, and vendor agreements.
- Corporate Governance: Oversee entity management and corporate secretarial matters, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal and regulatory risks, providing pragmatic solutions that balance legal protection with commercial goals.
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams (Finance, Asset Management, and Tax) to provide integrated legal advice.
- External Counsel Management: Coordinate and manage relationships with external law firms to ensure cost-effective and high-quality delivery.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience: 68 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) gained within a top-tier law firm
- Domain Expertise: Strong background in Real Estate, Corporate/M&A, or Funds. Experience within the New Economy sectors is highly regarded.
- Skills: Exceptional drafting skills and the ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable business advice.
- Mindset: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities and working with a high degree of autonomy.
- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent from a recognised university.
