Job Description

Our client is a leading real estate investment and development platform with a growing portfolio of large-scale projects across Asia Pacific. As part of its continued growth, it is seeking a Legal Counsel to support acquisitions, development and asset-related matters across multiple jurisdictions.

This role will work closely with senior management and business teams on strategic real estate transactions, development projects and complex commercial arrangements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities of this Legal Counsel, Real Estate Development:

  • Advise on acquisitions, disposals and development opportunities across APAC.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of real estate agreements, including sale and purchase agreements, leases, licences, option agreements, exclusivity arrangements and related transaction documents.
  • Conduct and manage legal due diligence relating to title, land use, zoning, development approvals, easements, access rights and other property-related matters.
  • Support project development activities, including stakeholder engagement, infrastructure requirements, utilities arrangements and regulatory approvals.
  • Manage transaction execution, completion processes and post-closing matters.
  • Instruct and manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Partner closely with investment, asset management, development, finance and commercial teams to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice.

Key Requirements of this Legal Counsel, Real Estate Development:

  • Approximately 5-10+ years PQE, though strong candidates outside this range will be considered.
  • Experience in real estate, property development, infrastructure, projects or construction-related legal work.
  • Strong exposure to property acquisitions, asset development, leasing, due diligence and transaction management.
  • Experience advising developers, real estate investors, REITs, infrastructure platforms or major asset owners would be advantageous.
  • Comfortable working on complex cross-border projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented advice.
