Job Description

Our client is a leading APAC-focused developer and operator of infrastructure assets. As part of its continued regional growth, it is seeking a Legal Counsel to support strategic acquisitions, development projects and complex infrastructure initiatives across Asia Pacific.

Based in Singapore, this role will partner closely with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams across multiple jurisdictions, providing legal support on project development, site acquisitions, utilities arrangements and related commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities of this Regional Legal Counsel, Strategic Infrastructure:

  • Support the acquisition, development and expansion of infrastructure projects across APAC.
  • Advise on a broad range of real estate and development transactions, including acquisition agreements, leases, option arrangements, commercial contracts and related documentation.
  • Lead and coordinate legal due diligence covering title, land use, planning approvals, easements, utilities access and development-related matters.
  • Review and negotiate agreements relating to utilities, power supply, connection arrangements and other infrastructure workstreams.
  • Provide practical legal support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial site evaluation through to transaction completion and post-closing matters.
  • Manage and coordinate external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Partner closely with development, investment, finance, engineering and business teams to identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks.

Key Requirements of this Regional Legal Counsel, Strategic Infrastructure:

  • 5-10+ years PQE
  • Strong experience in real estate, infrastructure, projects, energy, utilities, construction, development or related practice areas.
  • Experience advising on land acquisitions, development projects, leasing arrangements, easements, planning matters or major commercial transactions.
  • Exposure to power, utilities, regulated infrastructure, renewable energy or large-scale capital projects would be advantageous.
  • Prior in-house experience is welcome but not essential.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment with multiple stakeholders across jurisdictions.
