Legal Counsel

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and strategic partnership deals to protect corporate interests.
• Monitor and advise on statutory and regulatory frameworks (including data privacy, cybersecurity, and resource sustainability legislation) to ensure full operational compliance across operating markets.
• Counsel internal stakeholders on compliant marketing, competition law, intellectual property safeguards, trade secret protection, and brand management.
• Act as the primary legal liaison to government authorities, statutory bodies, and regulatory agencies in key operating jurisdictions.
• Direct legal strategy for commercial disputes, pre-litigation claims, and active litigation, coordinating closely with external legal experts.
• Develop, refine, and roll out internal legal policies, risk management protocols, and regulatory training programs for business teams and executive management.
• Retain, direct, and evaluate external legal counsel while managing associated legal budgets and legal expense allocations.
• Handle specialized corporate assignments and legal assessments as required by leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB / JD) or an equivalent professional legal qualification.
• 5 to 7+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as a practicing attorney or in-house legal counsel. Exposure to the ICT, technology, telecommunications, or related high-growth sectors is highly advantageous.
• Qualified to practice law in Singapore, the UK, the US, Australia, or another recognized common law jurisdiction. Candidates qualified in the People's Republic of China with matching industry exposure are also welcomed.
• Proven track record of managing concurrent, high-stakes legal projects independently through to resolution in a fast-paced corporate environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the professional presence needed to advise executive stakeholders, negotiate complex deals, and navigate cross-cultural commercial landscapes.
