A digital-first financial services platform expanding its insurance capabilities across the region is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its growing legal team. This role focuses on insurance regulatory matters and the development of innovative insurance products across APAC. It offers an excellent opportunity to deepen expertise in insurance law within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

As part of the legal function, you will work closely with product, compliance, risk, and business teams to support the structuring, launch, and ongoing governance of insurance products. You will also advise on licensing, distribution arrangements, regulatory filings, and insurer-intermediary partnerships across multiple markets. This position provides exposure to complex cross-border regulatory issues and an active role in shaping the organisation's insurance strategy.

The Role:

• Provide legal and regulatory advice on insurance laws, frameworks, and supervisory requirements across APAC.
• Support the development, structuring, and rollout of digital insurance products and distribution models
• Advise on licensing matters, regulatory submissions, and compliance requirements
• Draft, review, and negotiate insurance-related documentation, including distribution, partnership, and product agreements
• Work cross-functionally with internal teams.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years PQE from a reputable law firm or in-house team, with experience in insurance regulatory matters, insurance products, or financial services
• Strong knowledge of insurance legislation and regulatory expectations (APAC experience is an advantage)
• Interest in digital financial services, insurance innovation, and technology-enabled distribution models
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
• Valid work authorisation in Singapore
